In the Media

Krystal, her mum and grandma  have been an ambassador's for the National Breast Cancer Foundation for 14 years. All 3 have the gene fault BRCA1 and all 3 carry the burdeon of passing the gene fault onto their only daughters.

Throught the years Krystal and her family have been advocates for women at a high risk of breast and ovarian cancer. Bringing awareness and attention the cause through the media. Sharing their story has been a way for them to inspire and support other women and their families in a similar situation.

Krystal at the age of 25 had a preventive double mastectomy to combat the "family curse" and has since recovered and established the Pink Hope community. Krystal recently gave birth to a little girl so her passion to raise awareness and funds is now a neccessity. This may also bring a new set of challenges as she opens up to the possibility that her daughter may carry the same gene fault which has affected her family for four generations.

'Krystal is available for comment on the following topics: genetic testing, gene mutations (BRAC1/2), issues facing young women at risk of breast and ovarian cancer, encouraging women to be proactive with their breast health, tips for high risk women, passing the gene fault on to your children, pre implantation genetic diagnosis, preventive surgery, family genetic history, choices for high risk women and other issues relating to womens breast and ovarian cancer.
