Kim's suprise celebration

Kim (on right) and her sister Louise

On Friday last the 10th July my wife achieved a personal milestone which was 7yrs to the date (with a clean bill of health) that she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the very young age of 28.

Together with Pink Hope Foundation I organised a surprise fundraising event, which was held at the Kew RSL, 63 Cotham Rd, Kew.
I would like to thank Kew RSL and staff, for assisting me with the organisation of the evening. A special mention to Mick Dalgleish & Steve Booth for giving all who attended a great night of guitar and singing. Also a special thank you to Heather Thorne our guest speaker from KConFab, and everyone that attended on the night.  The support from all who attended was most appreciated, we would not of been able to raise these funds if it wasn’t for the generosity of everyone.

Special thanks to Nike, Banksia Grove wines, Tontine, Dawson’s Electrical Retravision, Vivio’s Restaurant Kew, Kew RSL who all donated goods to be either raffled or auctioned.
The night was thoroughly enjoyed by all, we had approximately 60 people attend and we managed to raise just over $3,000 for Pink Hope.

"I was so moved by David Wood and his idea to surprise his lovely wife Kim with a party to celebrate her 7 years cancer free.
A big thank you to all involved and for giving Kim a night to remember! the $3000 donated will be given straight to researchers in the form of a "Pink Hope Grant" through the National Breast Cancer Foundation."
