Answering all your fundraising questions

FRIDAY 17 September  |  #BrightPinkLipstickDay

Got a question that isn’t here? No problems! Just email us and we can help.

Who is Pink Hope?

Pink Hope is a preventative health hub that allows every individual the necessary tools to assess, manage and reduce their risk of breast and ovarian cancer, while providing personalised support for at-risk women.

Who can register for Bright Pink Lipstick Day?

Anyone who is over the age of 18 can register to raise funds for Bright Pink Lipstick Day.

Can I sign up as a team with friends?

Yes! You can participate in Bright Pink Lipstick day an individual or as a team. The register page needs to be completed by an individual, but then you can join forces with as many people as you like. The more the merrier!

What sort of events can I run to raise money for BPLD?

There are so many kinds of events you can run for Bright Pink Lipstick Day, the only limit is your imagination. You could host a pink-themed cocktail night, a Sunday brunch, a pamper session with the girls, a guided hike somewhere nearby, a movie marathon, a cooking class… really the options are endless. You could also hold your fundraiser at your workplace and encourage the whole team to get involved. Need more info? Check out our Successful Event Checklist for help.

Can I run a virtual event?

Absolutely! If you’re not sure where to start, consider running a private exercise class or art class on Zoom, or a games night on Facebook groups? Perhaps you might like to run a bookclub or a night of talks (Pink Hope can help – see the next question down).

Can Pink Hope provide speakers for my event?

We love to help out with your BPLD events and we can provide speakers if you’d like.

How will the money I raise be used?

Every cent you raise helps Pink Hope invest into our prevention programs and support services. We provide essential, science-backed information and personalised support to all women and their families at risk of cancer, no matter who they are or where they live. And we encourage and educate all Australians to know their personal risks of breast and ovarian cancer through tools, resources, and advocacy campaigns.

Does my event have to be on Bright Pink Lipstick Day?

The official Bright Pink Lipstick day is 17th September 2021, but you can host your event and fundraise on any day that works for you and your family. Then, share photos of your event and your support on social media on the 17th September to help us spread the message!

How can I bank the funds I have raised?

The best way to bank your funds is to make a direct deposit. The details are:

Pink Hope Community
ANZ Bank
BSB 012 217 Account 265055373

Please use your name as a reference and also email accounts@pinkhope.org.au including your name, date of donation and amount, so we can identify the payment and a tax receipt can be sent to you. Or you can send a cheque. Please make your cheque out to Pink Hope Community and post it to: PO Box 725, Narrabeen, NSW, 2101. And again, please make sure when you post your cheque you include your name, name and email address so a tax receipt can be sent to you.

How can I help if I don’t have time to fundraise?

Can’t commit to running a fundraiser, that’s ok! You can still help by donating to other Bright Pink Lipstick day fundraisers, buying a lipstick and proudly wear it on 17th September 2021, and sharing the Bright Pink Lipstick day message on your social media (using #brightpinklipstickday) with your friends and family.

Are there any fundraising guidelines to be aware of?

Yes, to help you create the best fundraiser you can, we have pulled together a set of Fundraising Guidelines, which you can read and learn from. Have a question? Email us, we can help!

Where can I find more information about genetic mutations and testing?

You can find more information on the Pink Hope website and blog, and you can chat with your doctor about your specific family and medical history.
